Christmas Chickadee

I started the "Christmas Chickadee" by Valerie Pfeiffer from World of Cross Stitching but stitched it on 14 count aida. I should have used three strands for better coverage and so went back over the hat with an extra strand but coudn't be bothered to go back over the rest. If I ever stitch it again I will use evenweave.

Winne The Pooh Circular Rug

My Daughter finished this rug a while ago. It takes me a while to get around to binding them for her and hanging them up or turning them into cushions. There are at least three more waiting my attention, and she has two more on the go at the moment. When she runs out of wall space we might have to actually put them on the floor.

As it is, we have to come up with some creative ways to hang them

Make your own circular knitting needles

There is a step by step tutorial at Rosemary Knits on making your own circular needles. Not something I would bother doing myself but an excellent way to create customised needles. For example, you might want longer needles than are normally on a circular or you might want to use a special wood, colour or simply save money.

The sun was just beginning to set over Morecambe bay when we walked into town on an unusually sunny November evening.
