stampers poem

I've got to preserve this.
The Stamping Addict

She learned to stamp on Monday.
Her embossing was quite fine.
She forgot to thaw out dinner
So we went out to dine.

She brayered backgrounds Tuesday,
She says they are a must.
They really are quite lovely,
But she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday it was birthday cards,
She says the chalking's fun.
Shading, blending & watercoloring,
But the laundry was not done.

Her card swap was on Thursday,
Using green and blue and red.
I guess she really was engrossed,
`Cause she never made the bed.

It was Shaker cards on Friday,
Using techniques she just adores.
But she never seemed to notice
The crumbs on all the floors!

I found a maid on Saturday,
My life is now complete.
My wife can stamp the hours away,
And the house will still be neat.

Well, now, today is Sunday,
And my forehead's feeling damp.
I cursed, I raved, I ranted…
The MAID has learned to STAMP!!!

4ply galore

I have abandoned the fair isle project to finish a light weight top for darling daughter and soon to embark on two more of this design for other people. One in aquamarine and one in aubergine. Whoever's yarn comes first will have theirs first. As I would imagine that neither will want to wear a jumper until next Autumn I should have plenty of time. They do take a long time to make of course, with such a fine yarn.

More Oats

I noticed yesterday and today that I seemed to have picked up a little energy from somewhere. The Bank Holiday Friday saw me cleaning and actually ironing. Four hours I ironed for, my goodness sir has a lot of clothes. Darling daughter commented that the kitchen looks bigger. It is because I decluttered the surfaces. They weren't very cluttered but little things had crept on, ironing for instance, and out of date money off coupons, it all adds up. It was only today when I actually found myself putting some music on and doing a few lunges whilst washing non dishwash proof stuff that I realised that something anti-depressive had kicked in. Must be the oats. A minutes research reveals that "Oats are used to treat depression and nervous exhaustion, as well as profound lethargy". They are only the first of the "superfoods" I have introduced. Roll on the other 13. I scuttled off to face the Bank Holiday Weekend crowds to aquire some purple grapes (in place of blueberries, not a common fruit in Morrisons) and some Broccoli. I'm glad we walked for the exercise as the car park was full and people were circling looking for spaces. I'm also glad that the book is making me come full circle back round to the sort of food I used to eat before I started the "Low fat lark" during which I put on the weight of a small elephant, followed by "The High Protein Lark" which gave me more aches and pains than Victor Meldrew and probebly caused the depression that I am, hopefully, shaking off. Your head becomes filled with so much conflicting dietary advice you don't know what to believe any more. As I said, roll on the next 13. Oats, big success.

Fair isle Swatch

I am unsure now whether to go ahead and make a jacket with this stained glass design. The photo doesn't show the variation in the blues too well. I am hoping some of the ladies in the craft group will have a look at it and tell me what they think.
