I decided to learn the continental method of knitting as I find not being able to tuck my needle under my arm, when using a circular, very slow and awkward. I had heard that there was another method of knitting which involves holding the yarn in the left hand and you don't "throw" it around the needle but "pick" the stitches through. I've knitted for years and didn't know there was another method. Anyway, after extensive surfing and trawling through search engines I found these excellent videos. It will take a lot of practice but I think it's the only way to go with circulars.Common Threads Fiber Art Store excellent online videos
I sat in front of the screen all morning copying the lady and produced about an inch but it's like anything, you have to practice. There's always something new to learn and thanks to the internet I didn't have to wait until I could get to the library or buy yet another book.
Darling daughter and her friends have swirled in and out of the room to find me entranced, peering at the tiny video square and replaying it over and over. They have taken themselves off out into the unexpected sunshine after foraging for themselves in the 'fridge.
