Exported from my old diary 25 Sep 2002 - She's good to 'er mum |
DD accompanied some friends and their mum to ASDA's
after tea. She took her pocket money with her and bless her heart, she
spent it on shopping items that she knows are heavy for me to carry back
from town on foot, some cat treats and just one "flump" bar for
herself.
DD's homework tonight was to write about "something in Morecambe" and she chose the Eric Morecambe Statue. She didn't quite believe me when I suggested she mention that his real name was Eric Bartholomew and that he changed it, or that he was a comedien. When pressed to reveal what she thought he was famous for, she said that she thought he had built the clock tower. Spooky moment this afternoon, just as I ran out of teabags there was a knock on the door and a chap from Ringtons was there with a bag of tea in his hand. I purchased the said tea from him and he pledged to return every fortnight at the same time. Sounds reasonable to me, but it made me wonder if there's secret web cam in everyone's tea caddy. |
