A lovely day today, warm and sunny and Sir was having a rare day off so we went for a long walk along the promenade.

There were people sunbathing in bikinis. It was warm but not that warm.

We waited our turn at the statue to take this pic. of DD. She has no idea who Eric Morecambe was, but she's always ready to pose. Of course this slight warming prompted sir to turn the heating off and it was only the pitiful sight of DD and I sat in our coats after tea that made him put it back on. Having a go at putting these two on as thumbnails so that the page loads faster. In theory, if you click them , they turn into a full size image.

DD was particulary fascinated by the "sinking sand", her imagination running riot.
I will e-mail you a picture of the guiness clock.

what a lovely set of pictures. we went to morecambe yesterday Jan 14th 2006 on the train from skipton. as a child back in early 60s we had many happy family holidays at morecambe. I remember with such joy spending hours next to the Moby Dick and the happy hours spent up near the boat on the quayside catching huge clawed crabs on crabbing lines. i also remember the guinness clock but cannot find any pictures of it. happy mount park at the age of 4 or 5 was just like disneyland to me. i used to be so excited to go there to see the illuminations. yesterday although the sea front has changed so much, the view looked the same and the old white midland hotel was stil there. There was no boating lake, no moby Dick, no guinness clock and the shops looked so drab and unloved. the journey from the station past aldi and morrisons was bizzare as none of it was familiar at all.

well it was a great surprise dropping into your website, I enjoyed the nostalgic tour, even though i am thousands of miles away in Singapore!
I will bookmark the site, because i have not yet finished scanning the pages.
I will be back home in my old Lancaster in March and down the pub at scale hall farm for a pint or two! Thanks for the tour
