Breath baby blanket

I recently shared a stall with my Daughter at a local craft fair. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid, if people think things should be cheaper, well just don't buy it, not bothered, don't care, trot on. And as for the ones that declared that they know someone that could make that, well good luck seeing if they are prepared to devote hours and hours of their time and provide the materials for the pittance you expect to pay. I know someone who once built their own car - doesn't mean I expect them to make one for me or that it's easy. Anyhow, my Daughter spent all our profits on other people's stalls, in fact we ran at a loss because she spent the float as well. 

The Breath Blanket is based on a pattern by Jody Pyott but I made it all in one piece, not blocks the way she does. Breath Pattern. My notes are here

Finally took a photo of my Tides of Change by Frank O Randle. Still need to weave the ends in.

Retro Ornament Throw, Autumn

I made this a while ago for a customer. She wanted autumnal colours and  she said that she loved the finished product. If I didn't know that she loved her pets like children I might think otherwise, as she lets them sleep on it.

They are both nearly finished and I have another order in the pipeline. Good job they are fun to make.

Sunburst Cushion, finished

I made an interlocking ripple back for the cushion and added some buttons. For a first attempt at making it up as I went along I'm pleased with it.

 

Crochet Sunburst Cushion

Making it up as I go along, a cheerful crochet cushion. I learned the sunburst pattern as demonstrated by NittyBits and am crocheting them together by adding a chain round and a round of trebles as demonstrated by Bunny Mummy. I haven't figured out how to do the back and closure yet but learning is half the fun.

Ocean Waves afghan challenge

I entered my throw into Mikeys Ocean Waves Afghan Challenge. This ripple type of pattern was new to me and my practise swatch was hard work but once I watched Mikeys's video tutorial a light bulb went on in my head and it made so much sense. I could even watch TV and crochet on it as the pattern was easy to follow, once I understood it.

Crochet circles together as you go

I was asked how I crochet together the circles for my Gather Ye Rosebuds blanket, based on Solveig Grimstad's Flowers in The Snow blanket. I think I do it more or less like she does and her instructions are very good but I made a little video for some of the ladies that have asked and it has helped them understand parts that they just weren't managing.
