Feather and Fan Stitch

I chose a bad time to start this off shoot branch of Morecambe Sands. My camera is away being repaired so my good intentions of documenting a summer top as I design and make it will have to go on hold. I have done a few swatches and have settled on a feather and fan pattern.Feather_small My original pattern called for some knit 4 togethers which made every fourth row a misery; a sure fire way to never finish the garment.

Feather and Fan Stitch pattern

Cast on a multiple of 18 stitches plus 2

Row 1: knit
Row 2: purl
Row 3: k1, *(k2tog) 3 times, (yf k1) 6 times, (k2tog) 3 times; repeat from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: Knit...knit not purl as you would logically expect.
